SoNA Debuts “Solos from Home” with Winona Fifield

Dear friends,

Today we’re debuting our Solos from Home series, fittingly beginning with our concertmaster, Winona Fifield. Winona invites us into her home in England and performs a solo by Bach that is close to her heart.

This new Solos from Home series is a chance for you to get to know us better! You usually hear SoNA musicians in beautiful synchronicity on stage, but this is an opportunity to hear the individual personalities of our orchestra in a new way, as each musician will perform a short solo and provide insights on their musical choices.

Winona chose to perform Bach’s Arioso, recounting a profound musical experience she had one clear evening just after performing with SoNA. She was listening to this piece on the radio on her drive home… “The sky was cloudless and full of stars, and this music seemed to reflect the beauty of the stars and universe. I was extremely touched and moved by the power that music has to express beauty that one can’t express with words.”

Like Winona, we all have stories of truly magical experiences where the beauty of music overwhelms and inspires. Stay tuned for more Solos from Home – we’ll be featuring approximately one SoNA artist per week via social media, so make sure you are following us!
