SoNA announces a special partnership with the newly formed Chamber Music of the Ozarks, founded by SoNA pianist Tomoko Kashiwagi. With the mission to bring people closer through chamber music, Chamber Music of the Ozarks embraces the intimacy and expressive power of unconducted chamber music, where given the small format, every single player is essential. Chamber Music of the Ozarks is a fiscally sponsored project of SoNA, and co-presents this concert as the debut concert in this meaningful new partnership.
Featured performers
Amanda Lenora Green-Turner, soprano
Kristen Salinas, flute
Michael Puryear, cello
Kristine Olefsky, piano
Tomoko Kashiwagi, curator
About the concert
Music has the power to make you feel and visualize images you’ve never seen before. SoNA Beyond and the Chamber Music of the Ozarks co-present, “Picturesque Chamber Music,” at the breathtakingly beautiful Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista, AR. The program features music that paints pictures and tells stories through music by three French composers (Gaubert, Massenet and Chaminade), a Brazilian composer (Villa-Lobos) and the Pulitzer Prize and Grammy award winning American composer, Jennifer Higdon. The nature-filled walk to the chapel will start your journey to an hour of escape from everyday life. Indulge in the beauty of music through these evocative chamber music repertoires as you are immersed in scenic views through the glass chapel.
This concert is sponsored by the North Arkansas Symphony Guild – made possible by a gift from the late Elin J. Stene.
